About Jesus Christ

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."  This is the first sentence in the Bible and the description of how all the world around us came into existence.  God created people and instructed them that they must be obedient to God.  These people did not obey God, but disobeyed him and tried to live their lives independent of him.  This is what we all do.  Every person is born with an inclination to live a life that is disobedient to God.  Because of this condition, every single person deserves to be punished by God.  God is a perfect judge, and he will not allow wrongdoing to go unpunished.

God, however, determined to make a way for people to escape his judgement and become his children and friends rather than his enemies.  This plan was Jesus Christ.  God sent his son, Jesus, to be born as a man and live a perfect life.  This was only possible because Jesus is God.

Jesus was the only person who did not deserve the wrath of God, but he was killed anyway.  The wrath that people deserved for their disobedience to God was put on Jesus so that people could live and become children of God.  Jesus died but rose again, showing that he had defeated death, making it possible for people to live a life that makes God famous.

This kind of living also brings the greatest and most satisfying joy that can be experienced.  Those who trust Jesus and turn from the disobedience they once loved, God will save! This turning is only possible by God's power through giving us his Spirit to live with us and show us how we should live. Would you turn your heart to Jesus and trust him today?
